60 years of Kabelmat: A success Ssory

Kabelmat, the renowned industry leader in coiling solutions, proudly celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, honoring six decades of innovation, growth, and success.

From its humble beginnings in 1963 to its strong presence on the global stage, Kabelmat's journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Founded by Hans Deißenberger in the picturesque Black Forest community of Grünmettstetten, Kabelmat had a mission to bring order to cable and wire storage. The first cable ring storage system, now known as MATBOI, was created, marking the inception of the Kabelmat era. Over the following years, the company grew steadily, establishing its own production capabilities and developing new products. Cable distributors worldwide took interest in the innovative coiling technology.

By the 1980s, Kabelmat had secured a firm position in the market. Its developers continuously refined cable ring coiling and bundling fully automated machines. Even before completion, these machines were being purchased by cable manufacturers worldwide. Kabelmat expanded its product range steadily, becoming not only an expert in cable coiling but also in other areas such as steel ropes, hydraulic hoses, and medical tubing. They even produced machines for coiling chains, candle wicks, sausage casings, and tennis strings.

In 2001, Kabelmat led the way by introducing 3D CAD technology to optimize the development process. This strategic realignment paved the way for a focus on tube coilers and automation, exemplified by the AUTOLOG line. These groundbreaking steps opened new opportunities for the company and reinforced its position as an innovative industry partner.

In 2009, the renowned Helukabel Group acquired Kabelmat. Helmut Luksch, founder and CEO of Helukabel, took the helm at Kabelmat, infusing the company with fresh energy. Under his leadership, Kabelmat underwent a clear realignment, with a strong focus on advancing cable coiling technologies and automation solutions.

The foundation for an impressive new building at the existing site in Glatten was laid by Kabelmat in 2017. Completed in 2019, the building not only expanded the existing operating area but also symbolized the company's innovative strength and readiness for progress. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a forward-looking design, the building provides an ideal environment for the development of high-quality coiling technologies and automation solutions.

In 2019, Horst Schoch was appointed as another Managing Director. His journey with Kabelmat began in 1997 as the Purchasing Manager. Over the years, he not only witnessed the company's development firsthand but also actively contributed to it. Serving as a Prokurist since 2013, he took on the role of co-leading the company alongside Mr. Helmut Luksch in 2019. Together, they form an experienced and dynamic leadership team, successfully guiding Kabelmat into the future. The company's clear direction remains firmly rooted, allowing it to look optimistically towards a promising future.

Today, Kabelmat celebrates its 60th anniversary and can proudly look back on an impressive history. The company has established itself as an expert in coiling technology and is internationally esteemed as a reliable partner. The ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications underline their commitment to quality and environmental protection.

Continuing with steady development, Kabelmat strives for further growth and success in both national and international markets. As part of the Helukabel Group and under the experienced leadership of Helmut Luksch and Horst Schoch, Kabelmat is well-equipped to continue shaping the coiling technology industry significantly in the years to come.
